If you’re on the lookout for somewhere special to enjoy a tasty bite to eat, meet friends for coffee and a chat, or just relax and savour the moment, then look no further! Just a stone’s throw from the Mountshannon marina, in the heart of the village, is berrytree café. Our boutique eatery, with its inviting turquoise frontage, boasts a sunny patio and appealing interior. The high ceilings, pastel shades, soft music and cosy seating area make this the perfect spot to spend some quality time.

The fresh, creative menu places a strong emphasis on taste and quality. Everything is homemade, homebaked and handcrafted inhouse, using only the best ingredients and showcasing local and regional produce wherever possible (see our welcome and about pages for more on this). The café offers an impressive array of homebaked cakes and treats, not to mention a whole host of gluten-friendly and vegan menu items.

Whatever your dietary requirements (coeliac, lactose intolerant, vegan, etc.), chances are you’ll find plenty of options on the berrytree café menu. For starters, the delicious homemade soup is always gluten-friendly and vegan. All our gourmet sandwiches can be made with gluten-free bread on request and the house salad dressing is both dairy-free and wheat-free. And since all sandwiches are made to order, they can easily be adapted to cater to most dietary needs – so if you’d prefer your sandwich to be made on gluten-free bread with vegan butter, mayo or pesto, just say the word!

apéro time

A hugely popular concept in Switzerland (our home from home) is the ‘apéro’. It covers everything from pre-dinner drinks to a leaving-do at work, and everything in between. An apéro typically consists of prosecco and wine, but also non-alcoholic options – plus some nibbles. At berrytree café, we would like to introduce the apéro and have thus drawn up a small menu for exactly this purpose! You can choose from our selection of signature non-alcoholic drinks (mocktails), some chic cocktails (think aperol spritz, hugo, lillet spritz), plus a curated list of wines (red, white, rosé and sparkling). A small nibbles menu completes the apéro vibe. So whether you’re meeting friends or indulging in some quality me-time, berrytree is the perfect place to apéro (yes, it’s also a verb)!
